As Hamilton continues to make its mark in the world of theater since storming the stages in 2015 and continuing to perform worldwide, the production no doubt receives the limelight it deserves. A show with many fans that may know almost everything about Hamilton but here are 7 fun facts that may not know that will blow you all away'!

1. This may come as no surprise. The song Guns and Ships' is the fastest spoken word in a song Broadway musical history!

2. It took Lin-Manuel Miranda a whole year to write the first song.

3. Most of the cast are people of colour deliberately - Miranda told The New York Times "Our goal was: This is a story about America then, told by America now, and we want to eliminate any distanceour story should look the way our country looks,"

4. The song titled Non-Stop' is the longest song in the production

5. One of the only a few that are able to use fire on stage

6. The idea and writings of this musical started when Miranda was on vacation in Mexico

7. Among his many achievements, Hamilton founded the New York Post, which would become the oldest newspaper in America to have been published continuously as a daily.

What's the story of Hamilton?

Hamilton's story is an extraordinary journey of success in the face of adversity, a life built on a raging passion to do good and create change for the better, as he rose from a Caribbean immigrant to one of the most important men in America.

Born out of wedlock in the West Indies and orphaned by the time he was 11, he arrived in New Jersey in 1772 to begin his grammar school education. From there he played a major role in the American revolutionary war, rising through the ranks to become an aide to George Washington. But that was only the beginning of the great man's story, with the proceeding chapters in his life taking in everything from sex scandals, fatal duels and the creation of the American Constitution.
